I am reproducing a message sent by Alan Roberts on the Public Forum about Organ Alley Events:

Alan Roberts wrote:
I just thought I'd drop a line or five to give everyone some idea as to what...I hope...will be happening in the Alley this year.

On the weds night, as is becoming a tradition, there will be a hand turned organ night (as mentioned elsewhere on this site). 'Lucy' and the Mortier will also be in play at times, and free tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
Thursday eve sees the Party Night, with decorated tables and balloons etc, so please bring your own refreshments, alchoholic or otherwise, and enjoy the music.
Friday will be guest organ night; last year Willem Kelders kindly supplied 'Locomotion', a Verbeeck street organ for our entertainment. This year....who knows!
Saturday morning sees the return of the organ related bring and buy sale, and this year we have four instruments entered already from an English source. If you have any bits and pieces you want to get rid of...or you need to buy some more, then come along to see what is on offer.

I recently saw a site plan for the whole show; it seems that we may well have the horticultural section behind us, rather than steam camping this year, so it may be a possibility that the alley will have to do an 'about face', and have large organs playing up the hill. I'll see what happens when I get there.

Best wishes to you all,
Alan Roberts

I have just received an updated list of events from Organ Alley Organ-izer Alan Roberts:

Events Calendar

Wednesday (30th) evening, as is becoming a tradition, will be Hand Turned organ night.

'Lucy' and the Mortier will also be in play at times and free tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

Thursday (31st) evening sees the Party Night, with decorated tables and balloons etc, so please bring your own refreshments, alchoholic or otherwise, and enjoy the music.

The evenings events are expected to be:

A rendition from Graham Spencer’s 55 key Leach organ ‘De-Angelena’, accompanied by Hiddo Van Os on Accordion!

Alan Pell has produced a new arrangement of ‘Lily Marlene’, in which Alan Roberts is expected to be ‘roped in’ for its performance!

Ray Bryant will do a conjuring show!

...And there will be a quiz with prizes!

Friday (1st Sept) will be guest organ night; last year Willem Kelders kindly supplied 'Locomotion’, a Verbeeck street organ for our entertainment. This year....who knows!

Please bring your own food and drink.

Saturday (2nd) morning sees the return of the organ related bring and buy sale, and this year we have four instruments entered already from an English source.

If you have any bits and pieces you want to get rid of...or you need to buy some more, then come along to see what is on offer.
