I used to be invited to Dorset every year when I had my Deleika, now with the Raffin I have been unable to get an invite for the last 3 years. Anyone know why? I can get a pass if I ask for one from my friends, but this backdoor method doesn't then get me in the programme. Any suggestions? Bob Sad

Hi Bob.

I think that the organ situation at the GDSF has changed dramatically over the past few years.

The numbers have been cut every year and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight.

I heard that they may even be cutting down to 50 organs in the not-so-distant future, so entries are going to be even more difficult.

I think the Oliver's pick the organs that they like and stick with them!

If you listen to the organ 'purists' who would like to advise the Oliver's on the best instruments to choose, half of the organs that are presently invited would also be rejected.

But if you can obtain a 'back-door' pass, I would grab it with both hands- Is it such a big deal that you don't get a mention in the programme?

If you don't want to take up your friends offer of a pass, there are plenty of people who will - They are desperate to get their hands on one!

Regards

Dave
