Important announcement to all forum members/readers

Our friend George Houghton is going into hospital today (8th May) for a major (quadruple) bypass operation, which will take place tomorrow.

He had been finding it increasingly difficult to exert even a small amount of effort and had been diagnosed with blocked arteries.

As George has always been a very active person (he could out perform me and I'm 30 years younger!), he had decided that an operation was the best option.

There are obvious risks involved, so I think that we should all keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best possible outcome.

I will post updates as I receive them.

Your feedback would be much appreciated.

Best regards,

Dave Stubbs

Hi Folks!

I have just received word that George has had his operation, which started at 08:30 this morning and is stable in intensive care.

I will post more updates as I receive them.

Hi Folks.

George had a satisfactory night in intensive care and has been transferred to a private room where he is making good progress (he even had some breakfast!).

I briefly spoke to George yesterday (Sunday) and he sounded in good spirits.

He expects to remain in hospital for a week or so.

Hi Folks.

All being well, George should be discharged from hospital tomorrow (Wednesday) and return home.

The hospital staff say that his progress has been 'remarkable'!

Update 15th May 2008

Hi Folks.

I spoke to George this afternoon.

He has been discharged from hospital and is now at home.

He is feeling sore (obviously!), but looking forward to 'getting on with it'!

Regards, Dave
